A few of my favorite things...

I picked up a special teacup and saucer at the thrift store.  It makes settling in for a night of studying feel just a little more special!

New Project!

My friend and neighbor Michelle and I have a passion for finding junk from thrift stores to dumptsters and transforming them into new and unique pieces for our homes and gardens.  Here is our newest project:  Glass totems using old vases, plates, glasses and any other unique glass "junk" we could find.......from shopping to building it was great fun!


 

 

 

 

 

 

Re-purposing a door

New life for an old door

The Dining Room: all re-purposed furniture!

This hutch was a thrift store find and was originally the color  shown inside the door below

The entire hutch was this dark drab color

I painted it a flat white and distressed it after paining.  The hardware is original.

Furniture was painted white with country style bows stenciled

After:  black spray paint with a new fabric covering

Table was also white, but I didn't take a "before"  After paint I distressed

A Girl's Best Friend

They say diamonds are a girl's best friend, and while I love to sparkle as much as the next girl, I think it's pretty hard to deny the power of a four legged furry best friend.  I have three.  They bring me so much joy each and every day.  They show unconditional love and to make them happy all they need is to spend time with you.  I cannot explain the bond, but it is deep and sweet.

Hello World!

This blog has been a long time coming, but it's finally here!  To blog or not to blog.....it's been the question I've been wrangling with for a while.  (ok one of many questions)  What will I say? What won't I say? Do  I hide real names to protect the innocent?  Well, I don't have all the answers yet, but I do know that I'm excited to finally be here, to have a forum to share my thoughts, experiences, stories.
